ATE System Engineer
About The Position
End-to-end responsibility for the development and maintenance of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), including strategic planning, standardization, documentation, and maintenance, combined with active, hands-on involvement in the development and deployment of testers. The role involves collaboration with the ATE team, Engineering, R&D, NPI, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT/IS teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a multi-year roadmap for ATE: unified architecture for testers/simulators, software/hardware standards, and quality gates across NPI.
- Define KPIs, test coverage, tester availability, and MTBF
- Focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and alignment with evolving market standards
- Actively participate in defining test requirements (TR/ATP), designing and building testers/simulators (HW/SW/mechanics), with emphasis on software
- Lead hands-on bring-up, troubleshooting, and transfer to production—including safety and serviceability
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance policies (PM/CM) for all testers: electrical safety/ESD standards, configuration control, and software versioning
- Comply with organizational procedures and relevant standards (including ISO 9001/plant safety procedures) for testing, documentation, and controls
- Standardize documents (TR/ATP/SOW/work instructions) and maintain traceability
- Integrate ATE with MES/ERP/PLM systems; automate test release and traceability processes
- Leverage BI/Analytics tools for quality investigations, RMAs, and failure trends
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or experienced Electrical practical engineer
- 4+ years of experience developing ATE for production lines (architecture, UUT integration, transition to production
- Experience in HW design on fundamental level (OrCAD/Allegro preferred), bring-up and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in tester software development: LabVIEW preferred.
- High proficiency in Hebrew and English.
