Yokneam Illit, Israel – (June 9, 2025) – ACS Motion Control is celebrating 40 years of delivering precision motion control solutions to the most demanding applications in global industry. Founded in 1985 near Haifa, the company has grown from a focused high-tech startup into a global force in precision motion control for semiconductor processing, electronics manufacturing, biomedical systems, and other advanced industrial automation.
“In the high-precision motion controller business, longevity is rare.” said Jason Goerges, Vice President of Marketing at ACS Motion Control. “What has kept ACS ahead is our commitment to our customers, to developing a deep understanding of their challenges, and to providing innovative solutions to those challenges.”
Founded by Ze’ev Kirshenboim and two partners, ACS began with the mission of providing manufacturers of semiconductor inspection systems the multi-axis motion control capabilities needed to address the growing demand for higher throughput and sub-micron accuracy. What started as a solution for early semiconductor equipment manufacturers soon gained traction with a broader range of high-tech machine builders who needed better motion control performance. As ACS expanded its reach, it remained grounded in the principles that defined its earliest systems—engineering discipline, application depth, and respect for the complexity of its customers’ challenges.
From the development of real-time control systems to its role in today’s global automation landscape, ACS has led with technical innovation and deep industry experience. Its proprietary algorithms, multi-axis motion control platforms, and flexible architecture have become essential to OEMs building machines that demand sub-micron to nanometer-level precision and repeatable performance.
By the early 2000s, ACS had become a trusted motion partner across semiconductor equipment, electronics assembly, and industrial printing. As new industries emerged—including 3D printing, life science, and laser processing—ACS responded with tailored solutions that delivered accuracy, stability, and scalability.
In 2017, ACS joined the Physik Instrumente (PI) Group. The acquisition expanded the company’s global reach while preserving its independent operations and core engineering culture. Between 2020 and 2025, ACS exceeded global revenue targets, fueled by long-term OEM relationships and sustained investment in practical, field-ready innovation.
“Our customers rely on us to engage early in the design process and stay through the most critical stages of delivery. We are proud to be known for consistency, accountability, and performance.” added Goerges.
ACS supports customers through regional teams in the United States, Germany, China, and Israel, along with a global network of integrators and partners. ACS control systems operate in high-precision environments around the world, including semiconductor fabs, research labs, and advanced production lines.
Looking to the future, ACS is investing in next-generation capabilities, including AI-enhanced control and higher-performing motion controller and servo drive architectures.
“Forty years is more than a milestone. It is a foundation for what comes next,” continued Goerges. “We are not standing still. We are moving forward with the same focus and precision that have guided us from the beginning.”
